Community Captions
We are proud to offer our videos with subtitling in English and other languages, as submitted by our wonderful community. Although YouTube no longer supports community-sourced translations, we are committed to accessibility, and so we have partnered with Amara to crowdsource our captions.
HOW TO TRANSLATE: If you would like to translate one of our videos into a different language, simply go to the Amara Channel Search Page and look for your desired video (the gang’s all there, even some real oldies). Additionally, for all videos from the start of 2021 onwards, you can find a link to that video’s unique Amara webpage listed at the bottom of its YouTube video-description box.
With Amara’s open and available captioning software, you can create a free account and immediately begin generating a text file with your translation, quickly and efficiently. All files made with Amara will come with timecodes for each line — these are necessary, as YouTube can’t accept a file of raw translation text with no designated timings. Amara offers a few file formats for you, all should work, but SRT is the most common (it might appear to you as: .srt.txt, that works too!).

With your translation done, you can download the timed text file of your translation, and email that to us at OverlySarcasticProductions@gmail.com with the subject line “Community Captions: [Video Title], [Language]”. For an example: “Community Captions: Misc Myths Loki, Swedish”.
From there, we’ll upload it, and our community can enjoy your contributions!
